Sterling Kimball,s Folkart Auction Dec 2014

Thursday, November 20th, 2014

I never sell any of my paintings. No price can buy them. I feel God gave me this talent following the tumor operation–now with part of the tumor still in my brain, I feel it was given to me to help people–bring joy—that being said—Sterling Kimball is having an Folkart/.Outsider Auction in Tennessee on December 6th, I have sent two of my paintings to be in that auction. The proceeds from those two paintings will go to help the Brittany Sandoval family in caring for baby daughter, Sawyer.—Sterling Kimball is a great auctioneer and a personal friend of mine!—olRoff

What make A Gallery

Tuesday, November 4th, 2014

One more comment—Do you really know why a person has a gallery. It is so much work but the rewards are huge. You get to travel to meet the artists, get to do the shows. You get to see the very best the artists have to offer. You get to associate with the artists, to laugh with them, to cry with them. They become your friends –your family and it feels real good. And then when you get home, you get to see your great customers and show them the treasures you found on your journey!—and you get to tell them the stories that the artists told you—NOW that is what makes a gallery!

Buying back Steven Chandler’s paintings

Tuesday, November 4th, 2014

Recently I purchased paintings I could not really afford but there were several reasons. I was a gallery owner for several years—both on-line and store front. I loved the artists I represented–still do. One of my favorites was and is Steven Chandler. It is his works I purchased. I had actually sold some of them to the gallery owner I purchased them back from. —-To be a happy, successful gallery owner, it must not be about money. It must be about the art—loving the art and the person who created it. You, the gallery owner must want that artist to be successful. You must want him/her to grow and it is your duty to try and lend a helping hand.—Equally when you sell a piece, again it is not about money, but it is about the joy of seeing your customer happy—seining the painting on their wall!—Steven Chandler’s paintings are winners. Yes I own a few and maybe someday I will even own more–hope so——-Lastly there are other artists I want to buy their work back but my funds are very limited so I cannot—I was sickened when I bought a painting I had previously sold for $150. (not a Chandler) back on eBay for 99 cents. That should NEVER happen. No, I will never embarrass that great artist by revealing the identity! —olRoff
