RA Miller was born in 1912 and died in 2006. He lived in old Rabbit Town, Georgia. I visited him every time I went to the South. His cut-outs and his paintings were very inexpensive. I could buy a pick-up load and have lots of money left. He was a lot of fun to visit with. I have fond memories of my last visit. "Is the you Country" he called out to me. his vision was failing. I told him it was. --Fond memories of this great artist who added much to the world of Folk/outsider art!
Preacher man was bought directly from RA Miller in the 1990s. Presently it is in my tool shed. next spring (2016) it will become part of my environment.
I bought this metal Rabbit cut-out from RA Miller in the late 1990s. I returned to California and placed the Rabbit on the Graves Country Gallery outside wall in Lodi, Ca. It remained there until about August of 2015. ---The gallery had closed 12-31-2012.---I was surprised that the outside elements did not damage it more. The present occupant gave me permission to take the Rabbit down and keep it. I took it to Aaron bros and had it professionally framed. It will never be subjected to the elements again.
